African Ritual Headdress Sculpture from Nigeria

Expressive double faced headdress in light wood, covered with leather and cane neck from the Ekpe society masquerades in the Cross River region of Eastern Nigeria. It is very decorative with four horns that look like young fern leaves unravelling. The patina on the leather shows its age and use.
