Neoclassical Armchair hand carved and ebonised is made in walnut. The frame with details refined inlay patterns in nut wood and boxwood is attributed to Matthijs Horrix, The Hague 1870-1875, Netherlands. The exceptionally decorative woodwork is in very good condition with signs of its age. The chair is reupholstered in damask designed by Victor & Rolf, most celebrated Dutch fashion designers and produced in the Netherlands Textile Museum. It is a very comfortable chair for reading conversing or relaxing.
Condition very good, wear consistent with age and use. The joint by the right side arm has moved a little but it is no structural damage.
