Rectangular abstract totem sculpture carved with letters and symbols and stained in red-brown hard wood, by T. Sabri, France 1987. The Totem is a tower that communicates through a visual language of symbols, pictures, objects, letters and words. This communication entwines itself as it climbs its way through the totem. It is for the viewer to translate by our brain the carved messages and transform them into sensations, emotions, action sand thoughts. Are these messages an abstraction of intangible ideas and concepts or are the messages concrete tangible thoughts of our senses. Is it we know what we see or we see what we know?
