The hand blown in the form of a tropical conch shell with sea crab applied in clear glass merging into tones of green, brown and deep red with gold inclusions, attributed to Alfredo Barbini (1912-2007) circa 1960.The Venetian artist grew up in Murano where he learned the traditional techniques of glassblowing in his teens as an apprentice. Throughout his career he experimented with old glass techniques and created new ones. Shell with crab is fine example of his creation of this delicately coloured biomorphic bowl.
