Original Murano glass pendant lamp mod. LS 134 by Carlo Nason for Mazzega, affectionately called Polpo, Octopus, in Opalescent light blue milky white glass and chrome, Italy 1968-69. It consists of four glass pieces creating a great layering effect. stacked pieces of semi-clear and opalescent glass in the center, is suspended from an adjustable steel cable that carries the lamp and original wiring around the core. The drop is 55 cm. This Model LS 134, also called ’’Takarmatur’’ was produced in the 1969 in blown milk glass and chromed fixtures. It is composed of four interlocking glass parts and hand blown into a single mold. When illuminated it resembles a jellyfish. Nason is glass a artist known for his use of historical techniques in producing inventive lamps, vases, and sculptures. Born in 1935 in Murano, Italy, his family is one of the island oldest glass blowing families. Nason learned the process of glassblowing from a very young age.
