Modernist desk or table Lamp designed by Yves Jujeau and André Mounique designed for the French manufacturer Jumo, France 1935-45. This particular early model with double arm is very rare, in good vintage condition with patina reflecting its age. Made of chrome-plated steel, it consists of an adjustable domed shade and pivoting shaft on top and bottom connecting to a thin double arm and anchored to a heavy round base with integrated switch. The arm can be tilted forward and backward and the shade rotates almost 360 degrees, allowing the light to be projected in any direction moving in a vertical position. There is a small area of loss of the chrome plating on the shade which adds to the charm of this lamp. The base has patina. The jumo lamp is favoured for its exemplary quality and economy of design by Charlotte Perriand, who chose them for the “Le Bazar” exhibition at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris in 1949.
