Pair of Brutalist cast aluminum cylinder table Lamps with organic textured relief by Willy Luyckx, Belgium, 1970. Willy Luyckx was a goldsmith who worked for goldsmith Camille Colruyt before starting his own business in the 1960's. The 1960's gave us the first moon landing and unprecedented change in the social norms. The designs of Willy Luyckx are reflected in these changes of the 1960's and 70's. Under the name Aluclair he produced a range of items, all made in this burned aluminium; ashtrays, candlesticks, lamps such as this one. For shipping reasons the lamps sold without the shades.
