Pair of hexagonal side tables designed by Victor Wilkins for G-plan, UK 1960's are made of hardwood and partly ebonised to frame the unusual shaped tables. These compact G Plan tables were designed in 1967 and launched in 1968, but only seem to have been made for a year or two. G Plan was a key player in mid-century furniture design and production in the UK. The company was initially created in 1898 , it wasn’t until 1952 when Grandson and designer Donald Gomme created a furniture range for the masses that evolved the company into the G Plan that we know today. The company was a pioneer of modular minimalist furniture. In the 1960s the rising popularity of Scandinavian design created healthy competition for G Plan and their solution was to hire Danish designer Kofold Larsen, known for clean lines.
