A pair of wrought black lacquered and gilt iron pedestal tables housing trays of green onyx plates. The central legs are swelled at the lower part support in the shape of a gold ringed ball on a four spiral scrolled legs. The legs rest on small oval, golden feet. Gilbert Poillerat (1902-1988) was inspired by the art and design of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. His mastery of iron work and design can be seen this example (Model "Godron shells") exhibiting early French 20th century craftsmanship.
