A huge light sconce by the architect Christophe Gevers, Belgium 1969-1970.
In 1970 Gevers was commissioned to realise the layout of Passage 44 for Credit Communal, boulevard Botanique Bruxelles. Entry hall, Grande hall, cloak room , cafe and the Twin cinema’s with a shared foyer.
He operated as an engineer as well as an artist creating the whole interior from A-Z with a sensitive touch for every detail. Every aspect of the interior was designed for each location specially from stairways in Wenge to minimalist but functional till the last waist bin and door handle
In the Grande hall he realised a 3 meter diameter illuminated modernist ceiling chandelier. (gold metal border with chromed steel rods hanging irregular)
The giant wall sconces , 6 in total, in brass and black steel, 80-100 cm were placed on the brick wall of the auditorium.
