Pair of chirping birds hand blown from transparent pagliesco (straw – coloured) glass with particles of gold flecks floating in the body of the birds. Paolo Venini worked with designers around the world, Swedish designer Tyra Lundgren was invited to try her talents with Murano glass after the 20st Venice biennale in 1936 where she exhibited her ceramics. Paolo Venni formed his own company in 1925, developing his own aesthetic in doing so and defining his and the firm’s identity. These charming sculptures had evolved through the innovation and by translating creativity into modern shapes; experimenting with textures. Chirping Birds are a refined and elegant symbol of Venini’s high quality craftsmanship and design. Dimensions each bird; Width 16 x 9cm Height 13 cm.
